Our Story

Fish Out Of Water is a food truck serving traditional and modernized Acadian food on the Cabot Trail in Cape Breton, Nova Scotia. We are a two person team, Julia and Taylor, serving you nostalgic comfort food from our window. All of our food is handmade on the truck using local products and ingredients. Some local farmers, fishers and makers that we rely on in the community are Front Porch Farm, Rural Roots Farm, Skye Glen Creamery, Victoria Co-op Fisheries, Village People Coffee, Mira Bay (Louisbourg Seafoods LTD), Gillis Seafood, Forever Green Farm and Gardens, and the Cape Breton Food Hub.

This little food truck is a longtime dream project, inspired by Julia’s Acadian heritage and her love of sharing food with the people she cares about. The menu has been put together with care and intention, giving old recipes new life and shining a spotlight on the fresh ingredients found in our community. We can’t wait to see you at our window!
